GOLDEN GLOBES 2014

Best dressed (female)
Best dressed (female)
As most of you may already know one of the biggest events took place on Sunday, The Golden Globes. From Jennifer Lawrence winning Best Supporting Actress to 12 Years A Slave winning best motion picture, everything happened at that event. Now putting the awards aside we do have to consider who the best dressed females were, the best dressed males oh and not to forget the worst dressed. I will start it all of with the best dressed females.
Above are the five females i thought looked the best on the red carpet at the Golden Globes. This year there was plenty of surprises which included capes, halters and even pants! Emma Watson, Cate Blanchett, Lupita Nyong’o, Amy Adams and Kerry Washington stood out in in their chosen colours of red, black and white.
Emma Watson rocked her look with a peekaboo Dior Haute Couture scarlet dress and cigarette pants. Cate looked effortlesly gorgeous in her backless Armani Privé lace and tulle gown, whilst Lupita flaunted her shoulders in a Ralph Lauren Collection. My hat goes off the Kerry who showed off her baby bump in Balenciaga, whilst Amy stunned in her Valentino Haute Couture Gown!
Which actress took home the big prize in your eyes?
Worst dressed females.
Worst dressed females.
Not everyone can pull off a great look at the Golden Globes, as you can clearly tell by the pictures above. At the 71st Annual Golden Globe awards Berenice Bejo overworked her look with a bright red dress which has way too much detailing at the shoulders, the make up with the dress gave a very severe look. Aubrey Plaza’s look was very dated with the two-toned purple and strapless combo. Lena Dunham’s Canary yellow gown was a big risk on the red carpet and sadly that risk didn’t really pay off as the dress was ill-fitting and pulled in in all of the wrong places. Paula Patton was clearly going for something bold and structural with this white number, but this look didn’t really work for her because of the enormous ruffle growing out of her shoulder. Finally Edie Falco’s red satin Lanvin gown didn’t really work as the bow is too distracting and the dress hangs instead of hugging her in the right places.
Even though these may of been fashion no-go’s for them this time round, hopefully next time they will know what suits them!
Best dressed men.
Best dressed men.
These three men really stood out with their looks at the Golden Globes this year. Sean “Diddy” Combs, Leonardo DiCaprio and Usher definetly pulled it together with fitted suits, bow ties and VERY shiny shoes.
Who do you think was the best dressed male?
I hope you enjoyed reading this post, feel free to comment who you think looked the best at the 2014 Golden Globes!
